Entropy of Universe
We know that according to the law of thermodynamics, the overall entropy of the universe is always
increasing. Entropy in a single word means randomness. We might observe this thing in the chemical
reactions (like formation of gases from solid reactants, as a side product, thus increasing entropy). But
through a philosophical angle, the statement may seem to be more than just a chemical thing. Let me
show you how.
Earlier (not yesterday), when the human civilizations just started developing, learning, reading, creating, constructing, observing, and multiplying, the mindset of people was very peaceful. They had no rush in their lives, unlike today. They just simply lived their lives like other animals, by just being concerned about their next meal. Only natural processes did occurred at that time, and man hardly bothered about that. But as humans started doing the above-mentioned activities, they started challenging the nature, by working against it most of the times. Initially, some smart humans at that time started controlling territories, like the Greek Kings,or the maharajas of India. They indulged in wars for their lands, loots and mass killings became common. And then humans developed weapons, destructive nuclear weapons, killing each other, creating controversies, and we all know about the world wars.
Side by side,humans also developed their helping hands, the robots, which were initially immovable computers taking a lot of energy and space. They developed computers, to smarter mobile PCs, and then came the era of supercomputers, which does miracle things that were considered to be impossible from the view of computer initiators. Now we have the new era of Artificial intelligence, which is in its infancy at present, but still excellent. And thus, many of the human superpowers have considered them to be used as a weapon, or in security departments. Some of the automated weapons are totally controlled by the robots. And all this has created a feeling of impatience, deceiveness, and distrust among everyone. The rate of crimes in the world are also increasing every time.
All the above factors point towards the amount of restlessness the humans have reached in the past developing years, and still moving towards a world of more restlessness. Even people are more concerned about their own success and self respect, for which they can even kill anyone in the world; or the world itself. Also, from cosmological frame of reference, the universe is also expanding with an accelerated pace. This also shows the increasing restlessness of the universe itself.
Hence, the scientific angle of entropy we know. But philosophical angle of it is also true in its aspect. Restlessness among everything is increasing, and so does the entropy.
